Sensitive skin is the most delicate skin type of the 5 available. If you have this skin you may have noticed that it gets easily affected by both interior and exterior factors, and is easily irritated, especially by shaving. Keeping our skin protected is extremely important if you want to avoid skin problems both in the short and the long term.
In general, dermatologists recommend using a product that has just a few ingredients and that provides a barrier of protection between the blade and your skin. Luckily, there are some great products that fit this purpose, let’s take a look at some of them.
My first choice for a sensitive skin shave cream is The Art of Shaving’s shave cream for sensitive skin. They have added lavender essential oil to the product’s formula providing a very effective protection against razor burn and irritation. Other ingredients include coconut oil and glycerin, providing a natural solution for those of use who have delicate skin.
Another good product is Jack Black’s Supreme Cream for sensitive skin. This product contains what they call Triple Cushion technology, which provides three levels of protection against skin damage. This product has been elaborated using natural ingredients such as Soybean oil, Organic Edelweiss and Plantago Leaf Extracts.
Finally, the third product I recommend if you prefer using foams is the Gillette Series shave foam. Let me tell you, it is always better to opt for a cream or a shaving soap, but if you don’t have other options available you should use this product. Gillette has included aloe to soothe the skin and minimize the effects of irritation.
Remember that besides using a good product for sensitive skin, you also need to have a good shaving technique. Always shave with the grain and avoid passing the razor more than 3 times on the same area. These products are not the best option for head shaving, instead in those cases you could use a dry shave gel for delicate skin.Take care of your skin, and you can ensure great looks!
